COVID-19

We respect and understand the stress that most individuals and families are experiencing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our volunteers, many of whom are on the front lines, are living the same reality as our adoption applicants.

Similar to many of our sister rescues, 2BABR has been inundated with applications. This is both a wonderful opportunity for our available pets, but has also placed a great deal of stress on the infrastructure of our organization.

We are communicating as timely and effectively as possible, including the use of automatic response emails in hopes that our adoption candidates will read them, follow appropriate directives and understand that we are operating during an unprecedented time.  

For those applicants interested in adopting a puppy:  Kindly note that we have received +/- 30,000 applications since the start of the pandemic (most of whom are seeking to adopt a puppy). On average, we have less than fifteen (15) puppies available for adoption in any given week.  Even with the release of upcoming litters, we will have far less supply than demand. We have not, nor do we intend to increase our fee structure.  We are doing our best to review applications in the order in which they are received. However, we also work in conjunction with the recommendations of our foster families in hopes of securing the BEST match for each of our potential adoptees. We do not guarantee the adoption of a Pet to any applicant (we have an approval process for a reason).

Therefore, if you are in a "hurry" to adopt a dog or puppy, our organization will not fit your needs for the foreseeable future. Our approval process remains in tact to properly qualify and interview prospective adoptive homes to the best of our ability.

We will not "rush" an application based on expressed intent to make an additional donation. Our guidelines for adoption were in place long before the start of the current pandemic; if you do not qualify for adoption under the "Before You Adopt" Section of our website, please do not write to us to complain.  Our Board is not currently entertaining exceptions to any published guideline.

And above all else, if you find the need to be angry or rude in your communication to any rescue volunteer, 2BABR or otherwise, please be advised that your application will be immediately disqualified.

2BABR is in full support of all sister rescues in their efforts to find wonderful loving homes for each of their animals, many of which we know are experiencing the same challenges.

Patience is a requirement as part of the COVID-19 World.  A little kindness will go a long way...and both of these qualities exemplify the type of adoptive homes we are seeking for our adoptable animals.
