VIRTUAL FOSTER PROGRAM

Being a virtual foster is an opportunity to provide love and attention to a dog in search of a forever home, when you don’t have the time or space to bring a dog into your home.

What is a virtual foster? A virtual foster is a volunteer who can commit a few hours a month to provide socialization and interactions for a dog in boarding. Virtual fosters will select one dog to promote and “foster” until they find their forever home. Virtual fosters can spend time with their foster on a walk, at a training class with our trainer or even on a doggy date. These interactions will help you and the rescue get a better sense of the dog’s personality. We ask that the virtual fosters write bios for their dog and be willing to speak to potential adopters regarding the dogs traits and mannerisms.

Why virtual fostering? We understand that the passion to help give animals a second chance doesn’t always mean we have the time or space to bring a dog into your home. Virtual fostering is a way to help the dog get adopted by enhancing their training and learning more about the dog. Boarding can be stressful for some dogs, the noise and constant socialization can cause some dogs to not fully be themselves in that environment. Getting them out into different situations gives us the opportunity to learn more about the dogs true personality. Taking your virtual foster to one of our training classes gives your dog a chance to learn more skills, gain positive interactions with other dogs and allows us to identify skills and areas for improvement.

Interested in being a virtual foster? Please fill out our volunteer application and let us know that you are interested in becoming a virtual foster. We will follow up with setting up a phone call to discuss the program and answer questions you may have. Once you are ready we will discuss the dogs in need of virtual fosters and match you up with someone. Being a volunteer and virtual foster for 2 Blondes All Breeds Rescue comes with a wonderful support system who will be there to answer questions and help you every step along the way.
